She is also the Founder of Humanizing Brands, through which she helps businesses and media develop and implement global strategies and values for sustainable, diverse and inclusive operations. Her ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) expertise is deep and systemic, as is her knowledge of event strategy, public speaking and socially responsible communication. Wherever possible, she loves to bring them all together.
Prior to this, Mariam led one of MENA top conglomerates, MBC Group, where she established impactful partnerships as Founding Head of Brand Reputation, Communications & Social Impact. Previous companies in her distinguished career include the United Nations High Commission, various educational institutions and the Government of Dubai.
Mariam deeply understands the nuances of today’s branding and business landscape — a place where it’s no longer good enough to make a nice profit and then do some social good for PR’s sake.
Over her career, she has played an integral role in the MENA region’s evolving attitude toward social good: from the days where charity was the focus, to the push for CSR, to the move toward Shared Value.
From this unique vantage point, Mariam has guided institutions of all sizes — from conglomerates and government departments, to local startups and SMEs — through the process of integrating ESG into the heart of their enterprise.
